Blue stone countertops
Blue stone countertops
Bluestone is a limestone formed millions of years ago by the accumulation of numerous fossil remains and remains of marine organisms. In Belgium, it is one of the best known natural stones, as it is one of the few natural stones quarried in Belgium.
Bluestone with its distinctive blue-grey colour lends itself to a variety of finishes. The wide variety of colours & patterns make it a popular material for worktops, floors, sills and many other indoor and outdoor applications. Bluestone is also known as, bluestone, bluestone, bluestone, petit granit,...
Blue stone worktops should be protected preventively with an impregnating product. Use a product with oleophobic properties so that the stone is optimally protected against soiling, including the penetration of oils and greases.
Suitable products for this purpose are Akemi Anti Stain Pearl Impregnator (colourless) or Akemi Colour Intensifier Transformer Max (colour intensifying).
See our handy applicators for homogeneous application and agitation of impregnating product.
Ask the supplier whether your top has already received an initial impregnation treatment.
For bluestone, a follow-up treatment is best done once or twice a year. Here we recommend Akemi Stain Repellent Nano.
To remove grease films, maintenance layers and absorbed food residues, we recommend Akemi Natural Stone Basic Cleaner Spray. Use this powerful cleaner only if your daily maintenance cleaner is not sufficient.
You also use this spray to thoroughly clean the worktop before an impregnation post-treatment.
As a daily maintenance cleaner, we recommend Akemi Crystal Clean Spray. This product cleans and degreases, dries quickly and is veil-free. Safe for all materials.
Use Akemi Triple Effect once a month. This 3-in-1 product cleans, conditions and protects. It supports and supplements the effectiveness of existing impregnations.
