Ceramic tiles
How to clean, protect and maintain ceramic tiles
Ceramic tiles are made from fired sand, clay and other natural minerals. It is therefore a machine-made product and not a natural stone, available in a wide variety of colours and sizes. Due to their high density and low moisture absorption, dirt is difficult to adhere to and they are therefore very easy to maintain. There are glazed variants that offer extra protection against dirt and unglazed variants that are still fairly porous. There are also full ceramic tiles (= porcelain stoneware) that are very strong and easy to maintain and can be used both indoors and outdoors.

TIPS
TIPS
- Always follow the instructions on the packaging of maintenance products.
- Mop with a well wrung-out mop or mop. Too much water makes the joints dirty.
- When cleaning ceramic floor tiles, it is better to avoid "greasy" soaps and oil-based cleaners such as marseille soap, brown soap and linseed oil. They leave a layer on the tiles, making foot and handprints visible and making it easier for dust, hair and other dirt to stick to the tiles. Instead, use a good degreasing cleaner such as Akemi Crystal Clean.
