How do I remove cement residue from tiles?
After grouting, a cement veil often remains, depending on the situation, we recommend the following treatment:
1. Removing cement residue from indoor ceramic tiles
- Let the joints cure and dry for a week.
- Moisten the soiled tiles and joints with clear water.
- Acid Cleaner with cold water (1:1 to 1:5) and apply.
- Soak for 5 to 20 minutes, scrub with a brush if heavily soiled.
- Rinse well with water and/or clean with Akemi Intensive Reiniger to neutralize.
- Rinse until all residues of the cleaner have been removed.
Acid Cleaner may also be used with other acid-resistant materials such as clinker bricks, granite and terracotta.
2. Removing cement residue from outdoor ceramic tiles
Use Akemi Concrete film remover
- Let the joints cure and dry for a week.
- Moisten the soiled tiles and joints with clear water.
- Acid Cleaner with cold water (1:1 to 1:5) and apply.
- Soak for 5 to 20 minutes, scrub with a brush if heavily soiled.
- Rinse well with water and/or clean with Akemi Intensive Reiniger to neutralize.
- Rinse until all residues of the cleaner have been removed.
3. Cementsluier verwijderen bij natuursteen tegels
- Dilute Intensive Cleaner with water and apply to the soiled stone.
- Dilution 1:1 to 1:5, depending on the contamination.
- Scrub for +/- 10 min. (may not dry!). Use a sponge, brush or cleaning pad for this.
- Rinse well with clear water until all residues are removed.
